Se dieron a conocer los Nominados a los premios Oscar 2016, el anuncio fue realizado en el Teatro Samuel Goldwyn de Beverly Hills, directores Guillermo del Toro y Ang Lee, el actor y director John Krasinski, y la presidenta de la Academia, Cheryl Boone Isaacs fueron los encargados de dar la lista de nominados.
Las que se alzan con el mayor número de nominaciones son The Revenant con 12, Mad Max: Fury Road con 10 nominaciones, los mexicanos nominados son Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Emmanuel Lubezki, dos personajes ya eventuales en los Oscar y Martin Hernandez, todos por The Revenant.
